What changed

- Site Explanations wait behind an (i). The map's key shows the dots and their names, and each row's explanation opens on a tap; the same dot explains stoke, the size and snow bands, where a card's figures come from, how Compare's bars run, how a route's time is guessed, and the resort page's "where it stands" panel.

- Site On a phone the map's controls are in two places, not three: locate and “go to” under the search, where the camera is; stoke, ★ only, size & snow, labels and key in one row at the bottom, with the key, a legend or the filters opening above it. The top of the map is clear again.
- Site The snow layer is “stoke” again, by name. It reads fresh snow today; it will grow into an index, and the name stays.
- Site A starred resort stays on the map whatever passes are lit, in its own pass colours with a star on the dot. “★ only”, on the map and in the list, shows just the ones you starred.
- Site My mountains has “update all”: every saved map again, one at a time, each with its bar, and one stop. A map you saved but did not star no longer loses its row while it updates.
- Site The guides are off the menus until they are finished; their addresses still work.
- Site My mountains wears the same header, title and type as every other page; it had its own. The wordmark on resort and pass pages carries the four dots and is no longer green.
- Site The map's card reads in dark mode again; it had come up white with pale text.
- Site The list on a phone is one row per resort: name and snowfall, then where / lifts / trails / size, then the pass chips. No more sideways scrolling through a table three screens wide. The sort row is a strip of pills.
- Site Resort, pass, data and My mountains pages carry the site's header: Map / All resorts / Guides / FAQ / About.
- Site FAQ and About sit in the same centred column as every other page.
- Site A little motion where you act: a lit star pops, cards and menus rise into place, dots settle onto the map, the wordmark's four dots turn under the pointer. All of it stays off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Site With reduced motion on, picking a resort from search or a link now opens its card; the map used to jump there without it.
- Site My mountains saves and updates a map in place, with a progress bar and a stop button, instead of opening the trail map to do it. On mobile data it says the size first.
- Site In the list, a pass chip on a tier you did not pick is a dashed outline with a faded dot, the way the map draws a ghost wedge; the words stay readable.
- Site The not-found page has a search box. The map, the list and the card are proper landmarks for a screen reader; the resort page's tip sits above the button and leaves sooner.
- Site Small type is darker everywhere (4.8:1), links inside text are underlined, and the lit Epic chip wears ink rather than white. Buttons a finger aims at are at least 30px on a phone.
- Site A
keybutton on the map opens what the dots mean; the fresh-snow layer is called that, not "stoke". - Site One bar: document pages carry Map / List / Compare / ★ My mountains / Guides / FAQ / About, and the app's ⋯ menu has Guides and About too.
- Site A starred resort on My mountains has a "save offline" link; the trail map's save button says so beside the arrow where there is a pointer, and the locate button goes away where the browser has no position to give.
- Site My mountains manages your offline maps: each one's size and date, whether the site has changed since, update, remove, and how much room is left on the device. The star is thumb-sized.
2026-10-21
- Site Top bar regrouped: passes · Map / List / Compare · ★ your mountains, with a count · ⋯ for snapshot, AI, feedback, FAQ. The resort count now sits by the map's search box.
- Site Webcams for 267 resorts, one tap from the map's card, the resort page and My mountains: always the resort's own webcam page.
- Site megapass installs as one app that opens on My mountains: the resorts you star and the trail maps you save for offline.
2026-10-12
- Site Trail maps full screen, in 3D, at their own address (/trails/stowe/ and so on) to bookmark: every lift and run on the finest imagery each country publishes (swisstopo, basemap.at, IGN, GSI, USGS), or a topo map with contours. Each opens looking up the hill, the way the resort draws its own map. Standing on a resort with location allowed, the map offers it.

- Site Every resort page draws its trail map: lifts and runs from OpenStreetMap, runs coloured by difficulty, each named on hover.
- Site Resort pages: pass days drawn as squares, the terrain bar gets a second bar for what is typical of its class, and the nearby table starts with the resort itself so the bars read against it.
- Site Resort pages redrawn: the figures up top, the mountain as a profile, "where it stands" against its peers as strips, blackout dates on the months, passes as dots. FAQ and sources fold away.
- Site Resort pages: the season in two charts — snow on the ground and snowfall so far, a typical winter with last winter drawn over it. Measured where a station stands for the mountain, the model elsewhere, and each says which.
2026-10-07

- Site Picking a resort from search goes there without hiding its neighbours.
- Site Every resort card names the nearest resorts on the same pass.
- Site Compare: star resorts into a shortlist, or pick a pass and a region, and see access, season, blackouts and size side by side.
- Site Esc closes a card; / jumps to search.

- Site The camera saves the map as an image, with a title and the legend.
- Site Resort pages: three locator maps, continent to valley, with towns and lakes.
